Good Food Emporium has come onboard as a Host Employer, ready to take on students in Retail, Beauty and Grocery!

Good Food Emporium, located in the Homemaker Centre in Narre Warren, is a family-owned community grocer, cafe and lifestyle store based on an ethos of sustainability. Good Food Emporium offers a wide range of organic produce, vegan and vegetarian foods, natural beauty and remedies, and sustainably produced craft liquors.

Good Food Emporium is community focused and committed to supporting local producers and brands. They stock locally produced products that are organic, eco-friendly and sustainable.

Students who secure these structured workplace opportunities at Good Food Emporium will be able to complete a general range of tasks including welcoming customers into the store and responding to their enquiries, stocking shelves, merchandising and learning point of sale procedures. Students in the beauty department will learn about low tox body care and make-up products and students in the green grocer department will learn about organic fruit and vegetable offerings and how to store/display them.

We would like to thank Good Food Emporium for offering these valued workplace opportunities to local secondary school students who benefit greatly from experiencing a real working environment. Their willingness to support our local young people aligns with their ethos of community being at the heart of their business model.

Niko’s Journey: From SWL to Apprenticeship at Nikkiso Cryoquip

A Remarkable Opportunity

A determined student from De La Salle College, recently embarked on an extraordinary journey. Affiliated with IELLEN, De La Salle College provided Niko with the chance to explore Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) opportunities. Niko seized this opportunity and set his sights on Dandenong, where an exciting adventure awaited him.

Hands-On Learning at Nikkiso Cryoquip

Niko found himself immersed in a dynamic environment. His dedication and eagerness to contribute were immediately recognized by colleagues who welcomed him with open arms.

Throughout his SWL placement, Niko didn’t hold back. He engaged in projects that aligned with his interests, gaining valuable hands-on experience that complemented his theoretical knowledge. But what truly fueled his enthusiasm was the boundless potential within Nikkiso Cryoquip, particularly in the field of clean energy.

Niko’s eyes sparkled as he delved into innovative solutions. At Nikkiso Cryoquip, he discovered a commitment to clean energy that resonated with his own values. From SWL to Apprenticeship

As Niko successfully completed his SWL placement, a new chapter unfolded. Nikkiso Cryoquip recognized his potential and offered him an apprenticeship. With Year 11 behind him, Niko eagerly prepares to complete Year 12 in Engineering. In 2024, he will seamlessly transition into his apprenticeship, becoming an integral part of the company’s dynamic and supportive work environment.
