Migrant Youth Employment Forum

November 28th, 2018
4:15 – 6:30
Greater Dandenong Council Chambers

The Migrant Youth Employment Forum 2018 is an opportunity for local young people in our community to listen to tips from local employers on how best to apply for available jobs. A panel of employers is assembled to answer a series of questions presented by young people about how they might best navigate the journey to employment. For example, a young person may ask “What employability skills are important to an employer”? or “How can I show that I have skills if I’ve never had a job”? A nominated employer on the panel is then asked to respond to the assembled audience. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity for young people to speak with migrant community support services regarding one on one assistance with resume writing and job search.
