Weld It!

Are you a Career/VET practitioner who is looking for ways to engage and support your second year VET engineering students who are learning welding skills? Do you want to help them explore their career options and connect them with the industry and potential employers?

Weld It! is a competition that celebrates the talent and potential of second year VET engineering students, who have been working on welding projects as part of their unit of competency. The competition is open to students studying Certificate II in Engineering Studies:

The competition aims to provide a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities in welding.

Descriptions of their welding projects.

The students are to write a brief statement explaining why they chose welding as their career path and what are their goals for the future.

The deadline for submission is 31st August 2024

The entries will be judged by a panel of experts from the welding industry, who will evaluate the quality, originality, and relevance of your students’ work. The winner on Monday 28 October 2024, where the winner will receive a $500 Total Tools voucher and a certificate. The competitors will also have the opportunity to network with industry professionals and potential employers, who may offer them casual, part time or full time work in engineering/manufacturing.
